"David Ives’s “Time Flies & Others by Ives” is popular among acting students, and it’s not just because the amusing collection of compact one-acts features comic roles perfect for performers who love to show off. Receiving a spirited production by the director Jordana Kritzer, this show also speaks quite sympathetically to people struggling to make a way for themselves. They are comedies that embrace the little guy — or, in the case of the first playlet, the little fly."

Congratulations Jordana!

Welcome to Adam Nicholas Graybill!

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Jules and Jessica Graybill
Date: Mar 14, 2007 10:13 AM
Subject: The early bird special

Just a note to introduce the newest addition to our family -- baby Adam -- who made his somewhat surprise arrival on Friday the 9th (two weeks before we were technically set to roll out the red carpet!) The last few weeks have seen big brother Ian happily co-opting all of Adam's things, so there are some sharing issues to now navigate, but otherwise, we are all settling in well and working hard on that whole "this is night vs this is day" thing.

The essentials:

Adam Nicholas Graybill
Born: March 9, 2007 at 10:16am
Weight: 6lbs 12oz
Length: 19 inches

And, of course, every baby needs a web site: http://www.adamgraybill.com

Hoping all is well with all of you and we see you soon!

Love,

-- Jessica, Jules, Ian and Adam

We have another week here and then we’re going to go “somewhere else” in Argentina. We’re loving Buenos Aires, but we really want to go somewhere less urban for the last week. We’re having a heck of a time deciding. No matter where we go, we have to fly.

The best plan we have now is to fly to Iguazu Falls for 3 days to see the tropical birds and the huge falls, and then to go to the very northern end of Patagonia in the Lake Region for the remainder of the time.

If any of you have traveled in Argentina, Alex and I would love recommendations!

See more progress on: Argentina

The weather was beautiful. So I took the excuse to ride the Burke-Gillman trail out to the Redhook Brewery.

It’s summer in the Pacific Northwest, so the trail was coated with overripe blackberries. I could smell them for the whole ride. And when I finally pulled over and dug in, the berries were warm from the sun.

Chickens crossed the path in Bothell, near the very cute Bothell History Museam. Kim called and met me for beer at the Redhook Brewery. We went wine tasting and chatted up the pourers.

All in all, riding my bike from home to the Redhook brewery on the Burke-Gillman trail—excellent idea.

See more progress on: burke gillman

Biking with Kelli and Eric

Kelli, Eric and I rode bikes from mom and dad’s house, to the ferry, and up from the orcas ferry terminal to Eastsound. The ride was beautiful (though quite hilly). We took the advice in “San Juan Islands Best Places” to take the road less travelled. Turns out that was a mistake. It was an ungraded dirt road and the maintenance crew was covering it with a mixture of water and tree sap to keep the dust down. We got shlacked; I’ve never used so much Spray ‘n Wash! The bike ride on the regraded big road with traffic was much nicer on the way back. Overall, the ride was probably about 25 miles—certainly the longest that I’ve taken yet.

See more progress on: Eastsound
